Par Pacific operates as a diversified energy company in the United States. It operates in three segments: Refining, Distribution, and Marketing; Natural Gas and Oil Operations; and Commodity Marketing and Logistics Operations. Par Pacific is a typical fast growth energy company within the mid-market that has been acquisition intensive over the past several years.
Like many other growing companies, Par Pacific was struggling to overcome operational inefficiencies of several disparate systems and disjointed business processes. Therefore, they made a strategic decision to consolidate as many of their business systems as possible onto an integrated SAP platform. To avoid similar pitfalls in the future and to facilitate innovation, continued growth, and flexibility, they chose to implement SAP S/4HANA.
SAP S/4HANA is built on an in-memory platform. It provides an instant 360 view of your business through a single source of truth and real-time processes, allowing for dynamic decision making, planning and analysis. This extreme performance is further enhanced by a simplified user experience with SAP Fiori, which is designed to run simple while reducing your data footprint.
Based on its data migration expertise notably last year’s seamless “lift and shift” from Tesoro’s data center to Par Pacific’s, Kellton Tech was selected to perform the implementation of Par Pacific’s Texadian Energy Business Unit. Aside from the implementation project, Kellton Tech also helped design the new corporate organizational structure that will allow Par Pacific to operate all their business on SAP. The project scope included the conversion of Texadian from an Oracle ERP system, to SAP S/4HANA, utilizing SAP’s new Simple Finance solution along with Fiori apps.
In just three months, Par Pacific has optimized its back office for its Midstream Business leveraging SAP as the Book of Record, while developing a scalable ERP landscape to support its continued growth in the Midstream and Downstream Oil & Gas sector.
“We want to thank Kellton Tech for being a great partner, as both a software re-seller and services provider for several of our strategic initiatives.” Rick Castro, CIO Par Pacific
